The Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS), are pointing accusing fingers on the government and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) for maltreating them.

They believe there is a deliberate attempt for the government and WAEC to collapse their institution as they claim that, aside from the exorbitant charges they pay to register their students, WAEC intentionally marks their students down.

The Afigya Kwabre South District Chair of the Ghana National Association  Private Schools, Nicholas Banbuni in an interview with Rexkin Ohene Boateng, says; “they have decided that, if you do not attend government schools, you won’t get a good school, right now, what the government is doing is for them to mark us, they are marking private schools down.”

He continued “the government’s intention is to collapse our schools, that’s what they intend to do. Somebody should come and tell us it is not true and if it’s not true, why are our children being marked down?” He quizzed

Mr. Nikolas, denounced the perception of private schools making huge profits but rather bemoaned the numerous taxes they pay to the government.

Reacting to the incident to Rextin Ohene Boateng, the Afigya Kwabre South District Director of Education, David Ankomea Asokwa, charged the Private Schools Association to officially write their concerns to the Ghana Education Service and WAEC.

“Private Schools have concerns with WAEC but I know they already have an engagement with WAEC, so they must sit down as a unit and write to WAEC concerning their grievances. They should also write to the government because the government is a listenable government. He revealed.
