Techiman South Member of Parliament, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, has taken the initiative to educate the electorates in the constituency on the voting process ahead of the upcoming December 7th elections.

The initiative according to Hon. Martin, aims to reduce the number of spoilt ballots during elections in Ghana.

He explained that, he and the NPP were affected the most as a result of spoilt ballots during the 2020 elections hence the initiative to educate electorates on the voting process.

Hon. Korsah revealed that, during the 2020 general elections, about 1,000 ballots were rejected as a result of spoilt ballots and out of the rejected, 800 of them were votes for him and the NPP.

He said this when addressing thousands of NPP supporters after a successful health walk at the Techiman Methodist park.

He used the occasion to educate the electorates on the voting process.

“In the 2020 elections, almost 1,000 vote cast were rejected because those we went to cast their vote spoilt the ballot paper, out of the 1,000 rejected votes 800 were voted in favor of Korsah but they spoilt the ballot paper so it was rejected.

“Please be vigilant come December 7th, there is a blank space by the NPP logo and my picture, you can should thumbprint on that blank space, you can also thumbprint on my picture or the NPP logo.

“When you are done, please don’t fold the ballot paper vertically after which you can fold it horizontally and then you proceed to the ballot box and drop the ballot paper in it.” He told the electorates.

Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, further explained that, registered voters have the right to cast their vote even if they have lost their voters’ ID cards.

“Please don’t forget that if you have lost your Voters’ ID card, you still have the opportunity to vote, there is no law in the country that prevents one from voting without Voters’ ID card, if only you have registered, then your name will be in the voter’s register and that means you can go and vote.” He explained
