Black Stars of Ghana head coach, Otto Addo, believes the key to success in the ongoing AFCON 2025 Qualifiers is self-confidence and self-belief.
The Black Stars of Ghana, have faced their share of challenges under the tutelage of Otto Addo winning 2 games, drawing 3 and losing 2 games out of the 7 games played so far since 15th March 2024.
The Black Stars, are currently third on Group F of the ongoing 2025 AFCON Qualifiers. The team, is yet to a win a game in their first 3 qualifiers, drawing 2 and loosing 1.
Ghana started their qualifier campaign with a surprising 1:0 defeat to Angola at the Babb Yara Sports Stadium played a 1:1 draw with the Menas of Niger at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, before drawing 0:0 with Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium.
However, when asked about the overall performance of the team with only 2 points out of possible 9 points, Otto Addo said he is not interested in any records, as he is focus on winning the next game for Ghana.
According to him, the team is doing their best and believes they will soon be rewarded probably in their return encounter against Sudan which is slated on Tuesday, 15th October, 2024.
“I don’t know why everybody is talking about that, football is football and I cannot even assure maybe God will take me tomorrow and if I’m dead, what can I can assure.
“We will try our best and I know that at the end we will be rewarded, the positive thing is, what I want to tell of you is that it is still in our own hands, we have to win the next game.
“Its a psychological game and we have to be fearless, we have to believe in ourselves because these kinds of games, sometimes take especially from the young players have to believe in themselves that they will score.
“We have to keep our heads-up and that is what I told them and they did well, in the end we will be rewarded.” He said
