Manchester United goalkeeper, André Onana Onana, is currently leading the race for the 2024/2025 English Premier League Golden Gloves award.

The Golden Gloves award is given to the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the league and currently, among the goalkeepers competing in this season’s English Premier League, André Onana is leading the race after keeping an impressive 4 clean sheets.

Despite the struggles of the Red Devils, André Onana has proven to be the bright spot for the team. Manchester United has won only two (2) games in the first seven (7) games played so far in the season, they have drawn two (2) games loosing the reaming three (3) matches.

The team has scored five (5) goals and conceded eight (8)  goals, but without the exemptional performance of Onana, Manchester United would have conceded more games and may not be occupying the fourteenth (14th) position they are currently.

The Cameroonian endured a challenging start to his career at Old Trafford, but finished his maiden season as a United player with several strong displays in the season’s final months.
Onana began his Golden Glove challenge with Premier League opener  at the Craven Cottage with a 1:0 win over Fulham.
He kept another clean sheet at the St Mary’s Stadium where he saved a penalty in a 3-0 success over Southampton. At the Selhurst Park, he helped his team to secure a point in a 0:0 draw against Crystal Palace.
André Onana’s last heroics came over the weekend at the Villa Park where Manchester United played a 0:0 against Aston Villa.
Onana is now on a run of three consecutive clean sheets in Premier League away games, a stat that underlines his growing resilience as a United player.
Onana leads Liverpool’s Alisson Becker and Arsenal’s David Raya (both three) when it comes to clean sheets, with four other goalkeepers on two.
