Sunyani West is a constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region has unveiled their District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) machines as part of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) efforts to ensure every part of the country gets good roads.
The event held at the facade of the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly brought together many dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the Regional Minister, Hon. Justina Owusu – Banahene widely called (Eno Obaatanpa) stated that the DRIP initiative will enhance development in the constituency and Ghana at large.
According to her, president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s decision to sow the seeds of transporting road construction machines to every Constituency in the country is a good idea and called on Ghanaians to support the initiation to achieve its purpose.
She appealed to the ‘ DRIP ‘ Director not to keep the machines from any community, should they approach him with inductive reason and tasked the various MDAs to cultivate the culture of maintenance to prolong the lifespan or use of the DRIP equipment.
“The DRIP inititive is not for any of us personal use. It is for every Ghanaian benefit and that the machines should not be kept away from any community but the most important part of it is that we should take very good care of these machines and ensure that they are used for intended purpose so that we can collectively develop our region.” Hon. Justina Owusu – Banahene stated.
She commanded the dignitaries who spent their time to grace the occasion despite their busy schedules.
For his part, the Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, Hon. Ignatius Baffour Awuah indicated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has constructed and tweaked road networks more than any other government.
He charged the various Municipal and District Chief Executives to make good use of the machines in order to enhance their inner roads and to also narrow the monstrous cost of food.
President Akufo-Addo has unveiled a fleet of 2,240 units of road construction equipment to ensure every part of the country gets good roads.
The equipment include motor graders, backhoes, rollers, wheel loaders, bulldozers, tipper trucks, concrete mixers, water tankers and low beds.
