Ghanaian attacker, Iñaki Williams Arthuer, has emerged as the Ghanaian player with the most goals scored in the Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Primera División, commonly known as the Primera División or La Liga.

The Spanish-born Ghanaian attacker, has spent most of his entire playing career for Athletic Club Bilbao, his boyhood club and has scored 76 goals for the Basque club in over 343 league games.

Iñaki Williams, started his senior career at Club Deportivo Basconia, where he played the 2013 – 14 football season. He joined Athletic Club “B”, commonly known as Bilbao Athletic and later got promoted to the senior team in the 2014-15 La Liga season.

Williams made his first-team and La Liga debut on 6 December 2014 when the team lost 1–0 at home to Córdoba Club de Fútbol. He got his first goal on 19 February of the following year and has since risen to stardom in the team.

The 30-year-old forward has been a key player for Athletic Bilbao, helping the team secure crucial victories and challenge for European spots. Williams starred as Athletic Bilbao won last season’s Copa del Rey. He was also part of the team that won the 2021 Supercopa de España.

With 76 goals and still active in the Primera División, Iñaki Williams Arthuer, is expected to continue his reign as Ghana’s leading goal scorer in the La Liga.

Thomas Partey (16 goals), Kevin-Prince Boateng (10 goals), Emmanuel Boateng (7 goals) and Richmond Boakye (6 goals) are among the Ghana players with most goals in the Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Primera División.
