The Chief Executive Officer (C. E. O) of Life-U-Lead, Inc. USA, Dr. Elvis Acheampong, has urged pastors in Techiman and for that matter Ghana to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for the youth in their church services.
Dr. Acheampong believes that by doing so, churches can effectively incorporate the youth into their churches and foster a sense of belonging among the younger generation.
Dr. Elvis Acheampong, said this during a one day leadership school; Pastors and Leaders Institute 2024 at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in the Techiman South Municipality of the Bono East Region.
Dr. Elvis Acheampong explained that the youth are the future of any society, and it is crucial for churches to provide a platform for them to actively participate in worship services and other church activities.
He noted that by creating a conducive atmosphere, churches can help the youth develop a strong spiritual foundation, which is essential for their overall well-being and success in life.
“Something must really propel these youth to come to church and it must be something that is purposefully crafted, a plan program which will attract them so that they can come to church. We talk about maybe forcing them spiritually to accept everything but what they are seeking has nothing to do with spirituality.
“In our generation, we love God so much that we want to do everything spiritually but the demons that are fighting us are not the same demons that are fighting the youth, they don’t even understand the whole spiritual warfare that we are talking about.
“My advice to every pastor is to find a way, create an atmosphere where these people can be conducive and can be very comfortable to serve.” He advised.
According to him, the youth when incorporated in the church service can operate modern technologies and innovative methods that will make the church services more appealing and by doing so will contribute in winning souls to the Kingdom of God.
“I want to encourage and motivate the pastors to find a way to incorporate the youth into their worship services, the youth can offer a lot to enhance and boost the activities of the churches.
“We live in a generation where we have a group that we call the GenZs, they are people that find themselves in the AI era.
” They are the digital group, they are the people that really want to see things happen, after the covid, a lot of things have happened, what has happened is that the church has gone digital, the church is now on the social media, in other words, there are number of people that connects with the social media, connects with YouTube and connect with Facebook to worship with us.
“These children can use that opportunity to bring a lot of people into the kingdom of God, so my prayer is that the leaders that I have spoken to will find a place for the youth and create a place purposefully for the youth.” Dr. Elvis Acheamping emphasized.
He continued, “Get them involved in your activities, get them involved in your services, get them involved in youth programs, there are a lot of motivational programs that you can put together in order for you to get them to the church.”
