Former First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama has taken a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Republican party and former US president, Donald Trump over his racially insensitive attack against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
Michelle Obama said Trump’s comment aims at dividing Americans.
According to her, Trump should be circumspect with his comment since the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those black jobs.
“For years, Donald Trump did everything within his powers to try to make people feel us. His narrow view of the world made them feel frightened by the existence of two hard working and highly educated successful people who happened to be black. I want to know, who’s going to tell him that the job he’s currently seeking might just be one of those black jobs?” The former First Lady started when addressing delegates at Chicago during the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
What Trump said.
“I’ve known [Harris] a long time indirectly, not directly, very much. And she was always of Indian heritage, and she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know, is she Indian, or is she Black?” The former President said during a panel discussion at the conference of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Meanwhile, Former United States of America president, Barack Obama declared Kamala Harris as the next president of the United States of America.
“I am feeling hopeful because this convention has always been pretty good to kids with funny names who believe in a country where anything is possible. Because we have a chance to elect someone who has spent her entire life trying to give people the same chances America gave her. Someone who sees you and hears you, and will get up every single day and fight for you.” Obama said in his speech on Tuesday.
“The next president of the United States of America, Kamala Harris” He declared.
“Here is a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down his golden escalator nine years ago. There has been a constant stream of gripes and grievances, the title becomes worse and he is afraid to lose them. There’s the childish nicknames, the crazy conspiracy theories, this weird obsession with crowd sizes,”
