The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reaffirmed its determination to win the 2024 elections at all costs.
The party has warned that it will not sacrifice the elections on the altar of peace.
Speaking at a mini rally of the NPP in Takoradi after a health walk on Saturday, August 17, the National Youth Organizer of the party, Salam Mustapha stated that they are for peace and progress of the country but they will not be pushed out by any form of tactics.
“We’re for peace, we like peace, we’re for the progress of the country. But we will not be pushed out by any form of tactics. Ghanaians will make their choice and vote for the NPP.” He said.
According to him, the NPP will not sacrifice this election on the altar of peace and they will not be intimidated.
He said if the NDC believe they are stronger than the NPP, they should dare them in this year’s election and they will see that they also have the men.
“The NPP will not sacrifice this election on the altar of peace. We will not do it. We will not submit, we will not be cowed, we will not be intimidated, we will not be pushed. Look at my muscles, these muscles are natural, my muscles are full of bones. If the NDC believes they are stronger than us, they should dare in this election and they will see that men are there.” He vowed.
His comment comes after the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the party will not sign any peace accord ahead of the polls.
The two leading political parties in Ghana have declared this year’s elections as crucial.
Meanwhile, the Peace Council of Ghana and other stakeholders have called on the various political parties to ensure that the 2024 elections are peaceful.
