In a remarkable display of community spirit and commitment to environmental cleanliness, Hon. Kojo Asemanyi, the Parliamentary Candidate for NPP-Gomoa East, led a clean-up exercise on August 10, 2024. The initiative, co-chaired by Hon. Richmond Kobina Otoo, the Chairman for the constituency, saw enthusiastic participation from party faithful and community members alike.

The clean-up exercise aimed to promote nation-building and environmental cleanliness, drawing volunteers from the Gomoa Buduburam Community. The event was further supported by the District NADMO Coordinator and staff, as well as representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency in the Gomoa East District, who joined hands with the community to make a significant impact.

In his address to the media, Hon. Asemanyi emphasized the importance of making environmental cleanliness a shared responsibility among all patriotic citizens of Ghana. He highlighted that a clean environment is essential for the health and well-being of the community and the nation at large.

During the event, Hon. Asemanyi also announced a generous contribution of GHC 50,000.00 towards the restructuring of the Gomoa Buduburam Community Centre. This amount was accumulated through his servant pay as an appointee in the Nana Akufo Addo-Bawumia government. Despite his appointment being just a few months away, he has selflessly utilized his earnings to support infrastructure development within the constituency. This follows his earlier initiative to reshape the dilapidated Nyanyano and Kojo-Oku roads just two months prior.

The Chief of Buduburam, Nana Kojo Essel, expressed immense gratitude to Hon. Asemanyi for his unwavering support to the community. He acknowledged the candidate’s consistent assistance, even in the absence of a parliamentary seat, and encouraged the people of Gomoa East, particularly those in Buduburam, to turn out in large numbers on December 7, 2024, to vote for a leader who genuinely cares for their welfare.

Hon. Asemanyi did not shy away from addressing the performance of the sitting MP, Hon. Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, expressing disappointment in his abysmal record over the years. He pointed out that a total of GHC 500,000.00 had been allocated to Hon. Paitoo from January 2024 to June 2024 alone as part of the MP Common Fund. However, he lamented the lack of visible infrastructure or development projects that could be attributed to this funding.

In light of this, Hon. Asemanyi urged the constituents of Gomoa East to reflect on their choices come December 7 and to vote decisively for him and the incoming President, His Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia.

Concluding the event, Hon. Asemanyi expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Nana Kojo Essel, the party leadership, and the Buduburam community for their overwhelming support. He promised to replicate similar clean-up exercises across all electoral areas, reinforcing his commitment to community development and environmental stewardship.
