Ahafo Ano South West Constituency Chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti region, Mr Eric Dapaah also known as Koo Bronii has lamented lack of development under NPP government and called for change of government.
He said the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has abandoned the Ahafo Ano South West Constituency despite the number of votes the party gets from them.
Speaking in an interview, Hon Eric Dapaah stated that the time has come for the NDC to come back to power and get an NDC MP in the constituency to enhance development.
“All the developmental projects in Ahafo Ano South West were done by former president John Dramani Mahama. There is no single project done by the NPP government, so it is imperative that the NDC and former president Mahama come to power again and continue their good works.” He said.
Comparing the NDC government to the ruling NPP, the Chairman stated that former president John Dramani Mahama’s four years in office changed Tepa with NDC MP and that Ahafo Ano North West wants to witness such transformation in the next four year ahead.
“And what I have realized in Ghana is that if the MP is on the ticket of the sitting president’s party, there are more development projects in the constituency. But it is unfortunate that whenever the NDC comes to power, our MP comes from the NPP so we don’t get the developmental projects that we deserve. Because Hon. Adusei and Mahama went for only four years but Tepa has developed like Bantema. So Mr. Mahama can change Ahafo Ano North West in his second coming.” He said.
Mr Eric Dapaah added that for the past 28 years, the NPP has held the Ahafo Ano North West parliamentary seat but ignored the constituency after winning an election.
“Since 1996, the parliamentary seat has been the NPP. Because this is their stronghold, they have been pampered and deprived us from developmental projects.” He stressed.
