The founder and leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, also known as Prophet Kumchacha, has attributed low offerings in his church to the economic mismanagement by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
He said the economic hardship under the current government forced the congregation to give coins and GHC1 as offerings so he will blame Nana Addo and Bawumia for low offerings.
In a viral video shared on the EDHUB page, Prophet Kumchacha stated that the work of God will be difficult with that kind of offerings.
“Today, 28th July, 2024, we were not able to collect a lot of offerings today. The offering bowl is full of coins, most of you gave coins. How can the work of God grow with these kinds of offerings? But I don’t blame you, I blame Nana Addo and Bawumia. I, Prophet Kumchacha, I don’t blame any of you sitting here, I blame Nana Addo and Bawumia. Come and look inside the offering bowl, there are only coins, the papers are few.” Kumchacha fumed.
“The GHC1 which I have named it vodafon and the coins (David stone) is what you bought. I blame Nana Addo and Bawumia for that.” He added.
Prophet Kumchacha is not the pastor who has raised concerns over low offerings in his church.
Recently, the founder of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim stated that ‘GH₵5 and GH₵10 offerings are unacceptable and disrespectful to God.
“From today, ‘GH₵5, GH₵10 offerings have been stopped. Don’t put such an amount of money here again, here don’t give offerings so don’t bring ‘GH₵5, GH₵10 here. Here we pray on our money as a prayer seed and the lowest is GH₵20, if you have only GH₵5 or GH₵10 don’t put it in the offering bowl, sit down for God to see that you don’t have money.” He said during church service.” Obinim said.
