A leading communicator of the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC, Beatrice Annan has taken a swipe at the wife of celebrated rapper, Sarkodie, Tracey Owusu Addo over her post on government alleged 15%. stake in the Tema Port.

Her comment was related to the locked up Global Fund donation of critical health suppliers at the Tema Port.

“Gov.’s stake in the Tema Port is currently only 15%. We do not have a say in what happens at our Port since 2014. It is owned by French billionaire Bolloré who owns 17 other ports in West Africa.” Tracey Owusu Addo wrote on her X.

Reacting to the post, Beatrice Annan said Tracey refused to study documents but has allowed herself to be used for cheap propaganda purposes.

“Sarkodie’s wife, who is alleged to have a bit of education abroad, refused to study documents but has allowed herself to be used for cheap propaganda purposes for reasons best known to her.” Beatrice said.

According to her, the situation around the port goes beyond what she thinks.

The NDC Communicator explained that “the current arrangement at the Port is a simple BOT under which MPS,which already had a 20 year Concession arrangement with GPHA dating back to 2004, got it extended by 15 years to invest close to a billion dollars to expand the Port to four times its original size.” Beatrice Annan wrote on her X.

Adding that “they will operate it for another 15 years and hand it over to GPHA. Similar to AMERI. BOTs are alternative way of financing infrastructure projects and are perfectly normal. To say the port has been sold to the Concessionaire is pure illiteracy. In this space, we must not allow sweeping statements or propaganda masquerading as intellectualism.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health Dr Bernard Okoe Boye has met with the Ministry of Finance (MOF), and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and gave the officers two-week ultimatum to clear locked-up medical supplies at the Tema Port.

This came after the government through the Ministry of Finance released GHC7.4m to ensure the clearance of all outstanding Global Fund containers.
