The Techiman South Municipal Assembly Coordinating Director, Mr Emmanuel Amoah, has commended farmers within the Municipality in their cooperation towards the Planting for Food and Jobs Phase 2.0 (PFJ 2.0) initiative.

According to him, farmers within the Techiman South Municipality of the Bono East region have enthusiastically welcomed the program, showing their support by registering in large numbers.

Mr. Amoah explained that farmers within the Techiman South Municipality and across the country, have a crucial role to play for the success of agriculture initiatives such as the Planting for Food and Jobs Phase 2.0.

“I will thank our farmers for participating in the registration process of the Planting for Food and Jobs Phase 2.0 (PFJ 2.0). This is a government initiative and all that is required is a farming land, and Ghana Card. The government has made arrangements to support farmers who will register on the platform by providing them with farming inputs and technical support throughout the farming season.”

“The positive response from farmers shows the value they place on government-led agricultural programs, which provide them with access to resources, training, inputs, and market opportunities that can help boost their yields, income, and livelihoods.

“The cooperation from our farmers is a testament to their dedication in embracing innovative approaches, adopting best practices, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders in the agriculture industry to transform the agriculture sector and harness its potential for sustainable growth and prosperity.” He told our reporter

The Techiman South Municipal Assembly, Department of Agriculture has registered over one thousand (1,000) farmers across the municipality to the Planting for Food and Jobs Phase 2.0 platform.

The Techiman South Municipal Assembly Coordinating Director, urged all farmers within the municipality, especially the youth to venture into agriculture since it’s a lucrative venture that can secure them a better future.

“We are grateful to the government for this initiative because if you come to our municipality, farming is predominant so this initiative will help us a lot, it’s my prayers that all farmers will get registered and benefit from this initiative.

“There are a lot of benefits in agriculture and therefore, I will urge the youth to venture into farming, there are a lot of technologies that are making farming very easy and profitable, so I will encourage the youth to venture into farming.” He said
