Techiman North DCE visits Offuman after downpour caused damage to 22 buildings

The District Chief Executive for Techiman North, Hon Addo Donkor Everson, have paid a visit to the people Ofuman  after a heavy rainstorm ripped off 21 houses and Offuman Methodist School to ascertain the level of damage at firsthand.

The swift response from Hon. Addo Donkor Everson, underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety, well-being, and recovery of residents in the face of natural disasters and emergencies. By visiting the affected area, the Chief Executive demonstrates solidarity with the people of Offuman, expresses empathy for their situation, and mobilizes resources to assist in the restoration and rehabilitation of their homes and livelihoods.

Hon Addo Donkor Everson, said “we are here because of what happened during the rain, we have realized that the roof of most houses have been ripped off, the Techiman North  National Disaster Management Organization, has written down the names of all those who have been affected.

“21 houses were affected and over 300 individuals have fall victim to the rain, we have also visited the school  and we have promised the school’s authority that the school will be fixed before school reopens.”

The Techiman North DCE, disclosed that, his office in collaboration with the central government will assist all the victims of the heavy rainfall hence they should exercise faith in the government.

Hon. Maxwell Osei Dampaaso Assembly Member Ofuman expressed worry over the incident and thanked the DCE for his swift intervention.

“We are devastated by this incident because houses that we didn’t expect to be affected have all been affected by the downpour so we have all been left dumbfounded.

“I will advice my people to cultivate the habit of tree planting because building close to trees were not affected due to the fact that these trees checked windbreak. We are grateful to the DCE for the support but we will need more of such support to provide some relief to our people but in all, we are thankful to God that no life was lost as a result of the decameter. He explained.

The Chief Executive’s intervention serves as a beacon of hope for the affected residents, signaling the government’s commitment to providing assistance, protection, and support in times of crisis and adversity.
