Indigents of Aboabo No. 1 in the Dormaa central municipality of the Bono region who reside abroad have vowed to support the development of their community through financial means.
They made this known during a handing over ceremony of a 14-seater male water closet toilet facility for the Aboabo No. 1 community.
Speaking on behalf of the 30 residents abroad who contributed to ensuring the existence of the project, Mr. Kwasi Kumi, A Software Engineer and an English teacher based in China explained that, they deemed it very necessary necessary to contribute their quota for the development of Aboabo No. 1 as a replacement for their absence during communal labors.
According to him, the construction of the toilet facility began 6 years ago and with the endless support and commitment of some 30 indigents of the town, the project has been materialized and handed over to the community.
He ceased the occasion to applaud members of the community who engaged in a cleanup exercise to usher in the handing over of the toilet facility.
“If the right measures are put in place, the town will be developed in no time, so we won’t sit alof for filt to devour the town, so we will constantly meet with the churches, traditional leaders and all other relevant stakeholders to jorjor on how best to develop the town.”
“We know that this won’t be the last time that our Chief, Nana Atta Mensah will do this. We are confident that it will be a regular exercise so help beautify the town. ” Mr. Kwasi Kumi explained
He revealed that, the group who contributed to the construction of the facility have plans to offer more developmental projects for the people of Aboabo No. 1, he therefore implored all indigents of the community in abroad to support the agenda to give a befitting face-lift for the community.
The Krontihene of Aboabo No. 1Nana Sabi Kyeremeh, on behalf of the Aboabo No. 1 traditional Council, expressed their profound gratitude to the members of the community who contributed to construct the modern toilet facility.
Nana Sabi Kyeremeh noted that “efforts of Nananom to construct the toilet with the support of members of the community proved futile hence the need to extend their plea to the members of the community who reside abroad who agreed and raised capital to make the dream of Nananom a reality.”
