The  running mate of John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has lameted the rate at which Ghanaians most especially the youth are traveling for greener pastures.

She said it is good for people to travel to gain experiences but the idea for the Ghanaian youth to travel is overwhelming.

Speaking in an interview, the former Minister of Education stated that a lot of Ghanaian youth are leaving the country because they are disappointed and desperate, a situation she said is worrying.

“People are traveling to see other places, to see how others are also managing the resources they have, it is good, infact it allows you to even appreciate your own culture better but our youth should not be leaving because they are disappointed, they should not be leaving because they are desperate, they shouldn’t leave with such oblique experience of their own country” Jane Opoku-Agyemang stated.

She also entreated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) members to be united and support each other to win the 2024 general elections.

According to her, the only hope to solve the economic challenges to restore the trust of the youth in the leaders and work together towards national building is to vote for former president John Dramani Mahama in the December 7 polls.

“We started a long time ago, let us be nice to each other, let us support each other, let us support our flagearer. The dedicated, hardworking, honest, caring, His excellency John Dramani Mahama. And we know he has done it before, he is not somebody we don’t know, just for saying that this man should not come, for saying that alone it means that it was okay when Ghanaians were dying because we didn’t have vaccines” Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang said.

“It was okay when women are delivering on the floor, it is okay when our own people are crying for their own money. It was okay because you were nurturing your own self-serving ambition.” She added.
