Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and actress, Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor popularly known as Efya has said the Akwaaba festival is a great opportunity for Ghanaians to exhibit their rich culture, art and music.

She said she is very excited for the Akwaaba festival because the courtesy of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) will help Ghanaian musicians to exhibit their sounds to the people coming from different countries to know how beautiful the local music is.

According to her, Ghana music is now growing and going to different countries so the Akwaaba festival is a very good idea.

“I think it is very exciting because Ghanaian music is actually growing and going to different countries and breaking borders, so I think this is the great opportunity for us to exhibit our sounds to all the people that are coming from all over the world and just to let them know how beautiful the music is.” Efya said this in an interview with TV3 monitored by Elvisanokyenews.com on Monday, 4th March, 2024.

“And the fact that you don’t need to understand the language, music can break barriers regardless of the language that we are singing in. And Ghana music is off the track right now and I think it is a very great opportunity for us to definitely exhibit what it is that we present to the world.” She added.

The “13th African Akwaaba night” scheduled to take place from March 6th to March 8th, 2024, at the prestigious National Theatre in Accra.

The Akwaaba festival is part of the preparation for Ghana to host the first African Games which start from 8th to 23rd March, 2024.

Among other things the festival will showcase Ghanaian art, culture, talent, featuring an array of exciting events and activities for attendees to enjoy, an exhibition and sale of traditional Ghanaian art and craft, alongside a display of local textiles, accessories, and beverages. Food enthusiasts will also be treated to a diverse culinary experience at the food bazaar.

Ghanaian Musicians such as Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinaata and Efya will display their talent and warm the heart of their funs.

The renowned Ghanaian singer, Efya indicated that she is very excited to be part of the festival.

Adding that aside from her music career, she also loves football.

“I am very excited because I used to be a football girl in school so I am very happy about that, I Can’t wait to be on the stage. Akwaaba night has always been exciting for everybody because we have so many people coming from different parts of the world and different parts of the country just to experience the music that we have here so I am very excited to be part of the people who will be representing Ghana” Efya added.
