Rev. Dr. Roland Okai takes over as Techiman Local Council of Churches Chairperson

Rev Dr. Roland Okai, has officially taken over as the new Chairperson of the Techiman Local Council of Churches for the next two years after a sendoff ceremony was held for Apostle Peter ADjei.

Apostle Peter Adjei and his executives of the Techiman Local Council of Churches officially handed over the mandate of running the day-to-day activity of the council after serving the people of Techiman especially the Christian community after completing two tenures in office.

Rev Dr. Roland Okai and his new executives are expected to take full control of the activities of the Techiman Council of Churches for two years with the hope of continuing it for an additional two years which will see them being in office for two tenures.

During a media interview, Apostle Peter expressed his appreciation for the support given by the council members while revealing that, the council during his tenure in office has secured land to build their administrative block.

“The council’s successful acquisition of land for their building demonstrates their commitment to establishing a physical space for their activities. This can provide a central location for meetings, events, and community engagement.”

“God has been good to the council and my administration, through the grace of God, we have been able to provide land for the construction of an administrative block for the council, during my tenure of office, with the help of God, I have been able to provide office equipment and also we have been able to stabilize the finances of the council.” He revealed.

The outgoing Chairperson of the council urged all churches within the Techiman South Municipality to join the Techiman Local Council of Churches as it provides a lot of benefits to its members.

Rev Dr. Roland Okai, the new Chairperson of the Techiman Local Council of Churches, expressed his commitment to moving the council forward from where the old executives left it.

He applauded the past executives for their immense contribution towards the growth of the council and promised to develop the land acquired by the past executives. Rev. Dr. Roland Okai appealed to all well-meaning people of Techiman to help the council build a befitting office complex for the Techiman Local Council of Churches.

” The council has come very far, with the grace of God our past Chairman has done a lot, he has acquired land for us to construct our own offices, in terms of finances, they have improved the finances of the council, they came and met only GHc20.00 in our account but they have handed over GHc4,000 and that is very commendable, they have set a good example for we the new executives to follow.”

“Our vision is to build a worship and meeting place for all churches within the municipality and we aimed to get it started this year so we will plead with all political parties, churches, and individuals to come to our aid when the time is due.” Rev. Dr. Roland Okai said.

Hon. Martin Adjei Mensah, the Member of Parliament for Techiman, at the sendoff service of the Techiman Local Council of Churches, indicates his support and involvement in the council’s activities.

He said, “We have been worshiping with them, the council gives us a lot of advice and solutions to most of the challenges in the municipality and I’m very pleased with the work they have done throughout the years.”

“I want to assure the new executives that, I am still committed to the council, my doors are always open for them and I hope that we can intensify the friendship and harmony between us” He explained
