The Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) as unfair when it comes to an election.

According to General Mosquito, evidence of past elections have proven that the NPP don’t like fairness during elections so the NDC will not rest in the 7th December 2024, general elections.

“We are conscious of the fact that our opponent who control the state machineries do not believe in fairness at all, that is why we are assuring Ghanaians that we will not rest and we will not falter. We will not relent until every vote is cast, every vote is counted, and every vote is made to count by the Jeam Mensah led Electoral Commission” Asiedu Nketia declared.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the Chairperson of the largest opposition party claimed that from all indications, NDC will win the 7th December, 2024 general elections for that matter they will not rest for the NPP to overturn the change Ghanaians are looking for.

“Every evidence and indicator shows the NDC will win the 2024 elections. Beyond the polls published by pollsters, our series of internal research consistently point to a one torch victory for John Dramani Mahama with the convincing working majority in parliament” Asiedu Nketia stated.

He said despite this evidence, the party will not celebrate victory because polls alone do not confer victory on any political party in an election.

“However, we are not complacent because polls alone do not confer victory on the political party in an election. Moreover, it has been said, those who vote decide nothing but those who count the votes decide everything” He added.

Meanwhile, the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo has promised to do whatever is required of him as the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces to ensure that the 7th December, 2024 elections will be free, fair and transparent.

Ghana will hold parliamentary and presidential elections on 7th December, 2024.

The two main political parties, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) are putting in place measures to win the election.

In his address ahead of 8th January constitution day, Nana Addo indicated that  he swore an oath on 7th January 2017 and again, four years later, on 7th January 2021 to be faithful and true to the republic of Ghana and preserve, protect and defend the Constitution so he will continue to do that i this year’s elections.

He said under no circumstance the country will fight because of elections.

“I swore an oath on 7th January 2017 and again, four years later, on 7th January 2021 to be faithful and true to the republic of Ghana and preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. I shall continue to do just that. It will not be under my watch that any adventurer will seek to torpedo the democratic path on which we have embarked. I will help see to it that we have a free and fair and transparent election in December 2024.” He assured.

“You have my word. Ghana will be the victor of such an outcome, not any individual party or candidate. Nonetheless, I urge you my fellow Ghanaians to continue to embrace the basic values of the Constitution. founded on the principles of democratic accountability and respect for the rule of law, human rights and individual liberty and freedom, which the great majority of us believe must form the bedrock of our national development and individual prosperity.” He added.

“Fellow Ghanaians, democracies are grounded on viable elections. This year, like we have done on 8 preceding occasions, we will go to the polls to elect the President and my successor. No true democrat can disregard the importance and sanctity of the ballot. It must, thus, be in our collective interest to follow the rules and regulations to ensure the elections are fair and transparent and that we all develop respect for them.” He added.
