I will blame Kuami Eugene if Guinness World Record disqualified me – Afua Asantewaa

Ghanaian journalist and entrepreneur, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum has revealed how Highlife artiste, Kuami Eugene presence at the Akwaaba Village in Accra to grace her event affected her attempt of  Guinness World Record longest singing marathon.

According to her, she has a crush on Kuami Eugene so she forgot Kuami Eugene’s lyrics for ‘Asuoden’, a song by Sista Afia which featured Kuami Eugene when he saw him at the sing-a-thon grounds.

Afua Asantewaa who is waiting for confirmation from Guinness World Record judges as the longest sing marathon by an individual stated that he will blame Kuami Eugene if she is disqualified.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum ended her journey with 126 hours, 52 minutes.

The six days journey of Afua started from December 24, at the Akwaaba Village in Accra.

Afua Asantewaa has expressed her appreciation to Ghanaians for the massive support.

While awaiting to be confirmed by Guinness World Record, Afua on her X post proudly said she has broken the record and set a new one.

She thanked Ghanaians for their love, dedication, motivation and prayers which, according to her, gave her strength throughout this journey.

“THIS IS WHERE I END MY JOURNEY! 126 HOURS, 52MINS. WE BROKE A RECORD AND SET A NEW ONE. IT WAS YOUR LOVE, DEDICATION, MOTIVATION AND PRAYERS THAT GAVE ME THE STRENGTH TO GET ON MY FEET EVERYTIME AND KEEP GOING FOR THIS LONG. IT WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE WITHOUT YOU! THANK YOU” She wrote.

But in a video shared by SikaOfficial on X (formerly Twitter) the media personality said Kuami Eugene has disturbed her.

“Kuami Eugene is my crush. That guy came and I forgot my lyrics. I said to myself Kuami , you have disturbed me, If Guinness people do not give me the record, it is Kwami Eugene. My husband knows I have a crush on him so when he got there, I said Kuami you have disturbed me, he shouldn’t have come to the sing-a-thon grounds. I couldn’t remember his lyrics to ‘Asuoden’. I was standing there. I did everything I couldn’t remember, to be honest with you, this is breaking news. I just like him, ……….if you see your crush what do you do?”, she said in an interview.

Meanwhile, Guinness World Record has reacted to Ghanaian journalist and entrepreneur, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s 126 hours, 52 minutes sing – a – thon journey.

According to Guinness World Record, they look forward to receiving evidence regarding Afua’s singing marathon to pass judgement.

This reaction came after a Ghanaian journalist, Abrantie Kwesi Gyamfi in a Facebook post, tagged Guinness World Records official Facebook account and stated that Ghana would be joining their book of the record soon following the completion of Afua Asantewaa’s sing-a-thon.

The Facebook post of Abrantie Kwesi Gyamfi read “ Hey Guinness World Records, Ghana is buzzing with the Sing-a-thon challenge with Afua Asantewaa O Aduonum. Ghana is joining your book of records soon.”

Guinness World Records official Facebook account in response stated that “Hi Abrantie. We look forward to receiving evidence, this event certainly seems to have captured the public’s imagination.”
