The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, Yaw Owusu, popularly known as Angolo, for allegedly stabbing his tenant to death during a confrontation at Awerempe in Berekum.
According to police reports, the tragic incident occurred on Friday, November 7, 2025, at about 10:30 a.m. following a heated argument between the suspect and his 25-year-old tenant, Bright Abotsi.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the altercation stemmed from an accusation by the landlord, who claimed that Abotsi had stolen two of his mobile phones. In the course of the argument, Yaw Owusu allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife.
Abotsi was immediately rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum for treatment but was later pronounced dead.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
