Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, is on the verge of completing a deal to sign former Aduana Stars talented forward Isaac Mintah on a free transfer.

Kotoko is expected to official announce Mintah’s deal in the coming days, following two months of training and advanced negotiations with the player.

The 25-year-old attacker has impressed the coaching staff with his skill, work ethic, and adaptability, has been training with the team as part of efforts to finalize his integration into the squad. Sources close to the club reveal that talks have progressed smoothly, with both parties agreeing on key terms of the contract.

Initially, it was rumored that Accra-based club hearts of oak were interested in signing Mintah. However, Kotoko appears to have gained the upper hand in the negotiations and is eager to finalize the deal as soon as possible.

Mintah’s move to Asante Kotoko will mark his return to Ghanaian football after a stint with a Libyan club.

This signing of Isaac Mintah is expected to strengthen Asante Kotoko’s attacking options as they aim for success in the ongoing season. The Porcupine Warriors have scored 8 goals in their last 5 Ghana Premier League games, winning four and drawing one.

Coach Dr. Prosper Ogum’s men will face Vision FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in their last game of the first round of the 2024-2025 Ghana Premier League. Asante Kotoko will begin the second round of the season with another home game against Karela United.

Kotoko is currently 6th on the Ghana Premier League table with 28 points.
