A former Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gifty Klenam, has officially joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) said she shared common ideas and vision with the ruling NDC so it is imperative to defect to them and explore her experiences to enhance national development.
“I want to officially announce that I am joining the NDC, I want to first state my appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the NPP. Having given me the opportunity to serve on their ticket as MP for two terms and a short time as a CEO under his Excellency, Nana Akufo-Addo’s government.” She announced.
“But I strongly believe that with the factors carefully considered, the best way to achieve the Ghana we all dream of is through the NDC. Upon reflection and extensive discussion with my family, I believe the NDC aligns more with my current values and vision for mother Ghana. I think it is time for the people who love Ghana to be bold and do whatever is necessary for Ghana’s development.” The former NPP MP and Movement for Change member said.
Madam Gifty Klenam expressed her appreciation to the NDC party for their overwhelming welcome.
“I bring with me twice the amount of fire, experience and seal to join my new family, the NDC. And I am grateful to the NDC for opening their arms and accepting me. Ghana’s potential is endless and the NDC has the unique ideas and resources to bring out the best in Ghana. I have already begun to make an effort to contribute actively to that effort in the NDC……Young people in this country have struggled for far too long and have had a lot of their time wasted.” She added.
“It is time to elevate them to their rightful places in society so they can also live dignified lives. I know my father is up there smiling at me this day for it was his wish that I will one day join his party. ‘Ey3 zu, my new family card’”
