The Director of Elections in Techiman South constituency for the NDC, Kasim Adams, has called on the Member of Parliament for Techiman South and Minister of Local Government, Decentralization & Rural Development, Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, to concede defeat in the just needed 2024 elections.

The Techiman South constituency, is among the few constituencies in the country that are yet to officially declare the results of the Parliament elections.

The coalition center for the Techiman South was vandalized before the Electoral Commission Officer in the constituency could make any declaration but both side claims the results from their internal coalition indicates the have won the Parliamentary seat

Kasim Adams, in a press release says the collated results from the 280 polling stations in Techiman South indicates that the NDC Parliamentary Candidates, Dr. Christopher Beyere, won the seat with a difference of 1,256 votes and therefore calls on Hon. Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah to accept the results of the elections in good fate and concede defeat.

The statement reads;

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Techiman South Constituency is calling on Hon. Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah to concede defeat in the recently held parliamentary elections.

According to the NDC’s collated results from 280 polling stations, Dr. Christopher Beyere, the NDC candidate, has emerged victorious with 44,986 votes, surpassing the NPP candidate’s 43,730 votes.

The NDC party has expressed concern over attempts by the NPP candidate to spread false information and incite violence, allegedly using military influence.

However, the NDC’s internal security measures ensured the Electoral Commission (EC) was able to declare Dr. Beyere as the MP-elect for Techiman South Constituency.

In light of these developments, the NDC party urges the people of Techiman to disregard misinformation peddled by the NPP party and its candidate.
