Ghanaian Highlife, High-life and Afrobeat singer, Eugene Kwame Marfo, known by the stage name Kuami Eugene has shared his experience about how he learnt how to play various instruments.
According to him, he knew he would become a great musician so he took his time and prepared well.
He said the church played a pivotal role in his music career since he learnt everything he knew in church. The “Angela” hit maker indicated that since he discovered how bright his future will be through music, he prepared well before coming to limelight.
Speaking in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Kuami Eugene said he can play every instrument he can lay his hands on.
The songwriter added that no one taught him how to play the piano.
“The church made me actually, I learnt everything, everything that I know from the church and you know what? When I was young, I knew I would become a great musician so I told myself I should prepare well before I get to the limelight. Before I got to the top I prepared a lot so I could play any instrument I got my hands on. No one taught me how to play the piano; I just started playing because I had been around it for a long time.” He said.
Among other instruments he can play, “Wish Me Well” and “Ohemaa” singer mentioned trumpet, Guitar.
“I was playing trumpet because I am Presbyterian, guitar and drums. It took me some time but I actually prepared.” Kuame Eugene indicated.
