Aside from Teachers in Ghana, Mortuary Workers in Ghana are the next profession who will soon be required to write licensing exams before they can be employed.
This was announced by the Mortuary and Funeral Facilities Agency (MoFFA).
According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MoFFA, Dr. Yaw Twerefour, the decision for Mortuary Workers in Ghana to take licensing exams has become necessary to ensure that the workers operate in a safe and regulated environment.
He said the licensing exams are part of the agency’s laws and regulations which needs to be complied.
“Very soon Mortuary Workers in Ghana will write a licensure exam which is in line with the agency’s laws and regulations. We urged all mortuary workers to embrace this new requirement and comply with it. The Mortuary and Funeral Facilities Agency wants to ensure that Mortuary workers operate in a safe and regulated environment.” Dr. Yaw Twerefour said this when speaking at a conference in Accra.
The licensing exams will help mortuary workers improve in their skills and to ensure consistency in discharging their duties perfectly.
“Introduction of licensing exams will help mortuary workers with more knowledge and skills to do their work safely.”
The introduction of Teacher licensure exams became a subject of discussion as some teachcres were not happy about the idea especially when it came to the public that more teachers failed in their licensure exams.
Following the widespread agitation and misunderstanding of teacher licensure exams, former president John Dramani Mahama has promised to cancel the teacher licensure exams when he wins the 2024 elections.
