Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Nartey Ogum has revealed how the Porcupine warriors was able to beat Aduana Stars.
Kotoko secured 2-1 win over Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa after they suffered four consecutives defeats against Nations, Legon Cities, Bechem United and Kpando Heart of Lions.
According Prosper Ogum, the team were calm in order face the high-pressure environment.
“The venue is very aggressive so in order for you to face such environment, you need to be calm not tactics. I trusted the strength of the players.” He said in an interview after the match.
Ogum added that the team is confident and determined despite the previous defeats.
“If a venue is aggressive there is no way you can succeed if you are also aggressive, calmness if the tool to defeat aggressive.” The coach indicated.
He expressed optimistic that going forward, the team will perform better in the Ghana Premier League.
The early goal by Patrick Asiedu and the 61st minutes score by Albert Amoah gave Kumasi Asante Kotoko the win over their opponent, Aduana Stars.
The Ghana Premier League giants came under serious criticism after the club’s unfortunate four consecutives defeats.
Hope and confidence were lost among supporters of Asante Kotoko as some were calling for Prosper Ogum’s dismissal.
The stunning performance of Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder and captain Justice Blay earned him Man of the Match award winner.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kotoko said the team deserves the win.
