The Vice Chairman of Bawumia campaign, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah says the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government commissioning infrastructure projects a few days into the elections will not work miracles for them to win the elections.
He said every government center on infrastructures and for the ruling party to complete and commission infrastructure projects indicates that the party has delivered, is delivering and can do more when given another opportunity.
Speaking on Channel Once TV, the Housing Minister stated that the commissioning of the major projects shows the track records of the government to expand infrastructural development across the country.
“Despite the work that has been done in infrastructure, there is always a demand for more infrastructure. So it tells to reason that both the ruling party and the opposition will make infrastructure a major conversation point. And for the ruling party, they have to demonstrate that they have fulfilled the infrastructure promise and for the opposition they will always make a case that the ruling party does not have any infrastructure so they should be voted out of power.” He said.
“And therefore for the ruling party there are infrastructure projects that have been completed by this time that serve a message to the public that you have delivered, you are delivering and you will deliver if you are given another opportunity. If there are projects that need completion and commissioning, you will definitely do that. But I don’t think anybody should live under the impression that commissioning of projects alone in a few weeks to the election will do any magic.” The Ofoase-Ayirebi MP indicated.
“It just forms part of the activities you have embarked on in a bit to send a message to the public that this political tradition has delivered, is delivering and will deliver the most important things to you.”
