Controversial sports journalist, Patrick Osei Agyemang also known as Countryman Songo has advised Ghana Black Star coach, Chris Hughton to include Asante Kotoko player, Richmond Nii Lamptey in his first 11 players for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast.
According to the Ace sports journalist, Richmond Lamptey is a good alternative for defensive midfielder or right-back for Premier League club Arsenal, Thomas Teye Partey who couldn’t join the final 27-man squad for the (AFCON) tournament.
On his Fir for Fire show, Countryman Songo stated that Richmond Lamptey is a starter player not supplous so the coach should select him among his first 11 players.
“We want to tell the coach that Richmond Lamptey is not supplous, he is even better than some of the players he trusts in the Black Star, am I lying? so Richmond Lamptey not a supplous he is a starter. He is a good player, in the absence of Thomas Partey, the coach should start with Richmond Lamptey” He said.

Ghana Black Star coach, Chris Hughton has announced his final 27-man squad for the (AFCON) tournament.
But Countryman Songo said he doubted the credibility of the coach to win the AFCON trophy.
According to him, the final 27-man squad for the (AFCON) tournament is questionable since he believes the players can not perform to the expectation of Ghanaians.
Countryman Songo earlier said, Chris Hughton has nothing new to offer Ghanaians.
“Chris Hughton, nothing new to offer Ghanaians, same old story” he tweeted.
