A Businessman and a Philanthropist, Mr Kwabena Nanja popularly known as Grumah has rescued the people of Amangoase- Adumasa in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti region as he has financed the construction of a death trap bridge after many years.
For the past twenty (20) years, the Amangoase- Adumasa bridge has been in a deplorable state as a death trap which affects farmers, students and entire residents.
According to the report, all efforts to fix the bridge have proven unsuccessful.
But Kwabena Nanja has mediated and solved the bridge which is about 50% complete.
Speaking to the media, he said development is a shared responsibility hence, the construction of the bridge.
“The state of the bridge is dangerous to the extent that students and adults can not cross it. So I decided to fix it with the resources I have and I will reap what I have sowed in the future. I don’t want to hear any bad news in this community as a result of the bridge. Some people fail to execute their duties because of the bridge so I am doing this to support development in the community.” He said.
“All of us form part of the government so everybody should do their best to enhance development. We can not always rely on the politicians, we should support them to promote development in the country.” Kwabena Nanja stated.
For his part, the Chief of Adumasi, Nana Agyewodin Kyeremateng Ababio lamented the deplorable bridge and lauded the effort by Kwabena Nanja saying he has been a great help for Adumasa and Amangoase.
“The bridge is our greatest challenge. I have announced several times that we need help and our own brother Grumah has decided to construct the bridge for us. We are pleading with other residents who have money to also do their best to enhance development in the community.” Nana Agyewodin said.
